Original Event Description
Time: May 2nd, 12:30pm ET
Location: Online
You can’t escape the rapid flood of news that’s coming out of Washington these days that will have real world impacts on our communities.
With Habitat on the Hill and local state advocacy days recently passed (and some still coming up), now is a good time to review and focus on the strategies and communications tactics that work.
Join us for a 60-minute session designed to give you practical solutions to these challenges. Walk away with ideas, connections, and ready-to-use tools that can fuel your next local campaign.
During this session we’ll dive into questions like:
- How do you talk about current federal policies to your community without getting political?
- How can we create consistent messaging when everything is changing rapidly?
- What strategies have worked (or not worked) for you when addressing and reducing NIMBYism in your community?
- How do you identify and engage community volunteers, donors, community partners and Habitat homeowners who can become advocates for affordable housing?
Plus, Community Connect will share advocacy campaign assets that can make it easier to amplify your message without having to start from scratch.
What should I expect during this event?
These are not webinars or trainings.
These gatherings create space for affiliates to discuss challenges, share experiences and collaborate on new ideas. Community Connect uses these discussions to design the tools that the community needs.
All participants are welcome to participate actively or sit back and listen.
